Jujuy Yungas: planning a visit to Calilegua
Calilegua offers a different kind of trip from the Quebrada. Plan it as a nature visit with its own base, access checks and time outdoors.
Choose the visit before arranging transport
Calilegua National Park protects Yungas environments. Use the park’s activities and visitor guidance to select an outing suited to your time and circumstances. Trails differ in effort and may not all be open on the day you visit.
Separate travel time from park time
Compare a base in Libertador or Calilegua with your current accommodation. Do not count an estimated drive as though it includes the park visit. Allow time to orient yourself, do the chosen activity and return.
Confirm operational details with the park
Check access, open trails, services and current recommendations. Bring what your activity needs and arrange the return with your provider. If access changes, change the plan: an older guide is not permission to enter.
The park authority determines access and use; its current instructions take priority over this guide.
