Jujuy in 4 days: a possible trip, not a race

Four days allow you to explore one corridor and make one extra choice. The idea is to avoid spending half the trip in transit and arrive at each base with time to spare.

Purmamarca: find your pace

Use the first day for the village, Seven Colors Hill and the Paseo de los Colorados. If you arrive late, do not force a Salinas outing: sleep and leave the high-altitude trip for a day with margin.

Tilcara and Maimará: less road, more time in each place

Give Tilcara time of its own: Pucará, the town centre and the option of Garganta del Diablo. Maimará can be a short stop if it does not make you rush. For several nights in the Quebrada, consider Tilcara as a central base.

Humahuaca: town first, Hornocal only when appropriate

Explore the historic centre and evaluate Hornocal separately. The viewpoint is at high altitude and requires specific transport; do not treat it as an automatic addition to an already full day.

Choose one fourth piece, not three

Choose Salinas Grandes if RN52 and the Puna are priorities; San Salvador and the Valleys to slow the pace or accommodate a flight; or another day in the Quebrada for depth rather than mileage. The choice depends on weather, altitude and transport.

Questions that change the plan

What does a fourth day actually add?

The fourth day makes room for one additional choice: Salinas on RN52, the city and Valleys, or more time in the Quebrada. It does not mean doing all three. A late arrival or early departure may use that margin. This guide keeps four days; the generator has its own supported durations.

Do you need to see everything on this itinerary?

No. The itinerary keeps margin and prioritises outings that fit your transport, pace and altitude choices.

This editorial guide keeps four days. The generator supports 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7 days; opening it does not turn this guide into a five-day plan.
